What is Drupal?
Drupal is a free, open-source content management system (CMS) that allows individuals and organizations to create and manage their websites. It’s known for its flexibility and robust community support. Read more about Drupal
What is Acquia?
Acquia is a company that provides enterprise-level solutions and services for Drupal and a lot more. While Drupal is open-source and free, Acquia offers paid products and services that enhance Drupal's capabilities, such as cloud hosting, security, and support.
Dries Buytaert is the original creator of Drupal and the co-founder of Acquia. He started Drupal in 2000 and later launched Acquia in 2007 to provide enterprise-level support for Drupal users.
Do I need Acquia or Drupal?
Acquia enhances Drupal by offering advanced features like high scalability, enhanced security, and enterprise-level support. Whether you're a growing business, a large organisation, or a government entity, Acquia’s solutions can help optimise and manage your digital experience at scale.
While Drupal is powerful on its own, Acquia provides additional tools and services that make it easier to maintain, secure, and expand complex digital experiences.
If you are a large business requiring advanced features like high scalability, enhanced security, and robust support, Acquia's enterprise-level Digital Experience Platform (DXP) is an excellent choice.
